Ilinden quarter is situated in the western part of the capital. In the north of the quarter is Sveta troitsa quarter, in the east - Konstantin Velichkov Blvd., in the south - Razsadnika quarter and in the west - Zapaden /Western/ park.
Unlike other quarters situated next to parks Ilinden quarter has wonderful greenery around the residential buildings. In the inner part of the quarter, far from the main roads, there are no ecological problems, it is quiet and the air is fresh.
There are various types of residential buildings in the quarter. There are old four-storey blocks built in the 40s. There are also one-kind houses built in the same period and situated alons Naicho Tsanov Str. In the beginning of the 60s starts the second wave of construction works in Ilinden quarter. All blocks built after the mid 60s are with central heating.
There are two schools - 113th secondary school on Tsaritsa Ioana Blvd. and 2nd subsidiary school on Tsaritsa Ioana Blvd. III police station is situated on Tsaritsa Ioana Blvd., 10th hospital on Al. Stamboliiski Blvd., the national fire station and emergency security on Pirotska Str. are in the quarter.
