Galata is the smallest quarter of Varna with population numbering to 2030 people (according to census of 2005).
It is located in the highest part of the city over the cape with the same name. At its foot is the natural outcome of the Varna bay. Beacuse of the weather around the cape ships often stay on roads before entering the port.

The access to it is through Asparuhov Bridge and panoramic road around the Varna bay. The district uses the whole infrastructure of the city and has great views and mild climate.
Around Galata are located clean, virgin stony beaches - Pasha dere, Fichoza and suitable for camping - tourism and small hotels and bungalows. Nearby is the southern resort area of Varna, Borovets.
Most of the residential buildings in the area are 1-2 storey houses. During the past few years many multi-storey residential buildings, complexes and hotel have been constructed.
