Zheglitsa is a village in northwestern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Vidin, Vidin region.
It is situated about 19 km south of Vidin and about 38 km east of Kula city. The distance to the capital Sofia is 187 km.
Danube river is located 4 km away. The climate is characterized by cold and windy winter, while the summer is hot. The average altitude is 138 m.
The population numbers about 170 people.
The village has a town hall, railway station, community center, health center and a restaurant. Has a range of mobile operators. The nearest school, kindergarten and hospital are located in the town of Vidin .
There are beautiful forest and spectacular views in the village. Northwest of it passes the railway Mesdra-Vidin and the national motorway I-1 ( Vidin- Sofia- Kula).
Zheglitsa proximity of the Danube river makes it a place suitable for fishing.
In Vidin one can visit: The Castle Baba Vida, the Turkish konak /police office/ Koluka, turned into a museum, the mosque and library of Osman Pazvantoglu, the Ethnographic Museum Krustata kazarma, Stambol Kapiya and many other cultural and architectural monuments, which the city is famous for.
