Pepelishte is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is part of Kardzhali Municipality, Kardzhali Region.
It is 8 km south of Kardzhali, 9 km north of Momchilgrad, 37 km east of Ardino and about 249 km south-east of the capital Sofia.
Pepelishte is situated in the outskirts of Kardzhali at an altitude of about 254 m. The relief is hilly with beautiful panoramic views. The summer is warm and hot and the winter - soft and short.
The village of Pepelishte is located less than a kilometer away from main road E85. The population is approximately 226 people.
The village is provided with electricity, water, communication equipment amd regular bus transport to Kardzhali. There is a mosque here. In the village of Gluhar /2 km in the east/ you will find a primary school with a kindergarten, a community center, a post office, a police department, a mosque and a GP. The nearest general hospital is in Kardzhali.
Pepelishte is about 9 km away of Studen kladenets Dam and about 14 km away of Kardzhali Dam. In the summer they are preferred destination for recreation, sun-bathing and water sport practicing. There are many hotels, restaurants, villas and guest houses. Interesting are the floating pontoon-restaurants with rich fish menu.
