Voynegovtsi is a village set in Western Bulgaria. It is located in Sofia Municipality, Sofia district.
Village of Voynegovtsi is located in a mountainous region, at the foot of the southern slopes of the Balkan Mountains. It is just 16 km away from Sofia downtown.
There are several oblique references that village of Voynegovtsi /today it is a quarter of Sofia city/ was inhabited with emigrants from village of Voynyagovo in the period of XVI/XVII centuries. St Dimitar Monastery was established in this period at the settlement of Voynegovtsi. St Dimitar is the saint protector of Voynyagovo.
There is a town-hall, a kindergarten, a community centre, a post office and a medical centre.
The village is served by bus lines № 21, 22 and route taxis. There is swift access to the capital, because Voynegovtsi is located in close proximity to the Ring Road.
