Troyan is a village in Southern Bulgaria, it is part of Simeonovgrad municipality, Haskovo region.

In Bulgaria there is another village of the same name, and this is town of Troyan, Lovech region.

The village is located 6 km northeast of the municipal center of Simeonovgrad, 30 km east of Dimitrovgrad and 40 km northeast of Haskovo.

The climate is characterized by mild, warm winters and relatively hot summers. Spring comes early and is cooler than autumn.

The altitude ranges from 100 to 199 meters.

The village has electricity and water. There are street lights, mobile phone coverage and bus transportation to the municipality center and the surrounding villages.

There is a medical center in Simeonovgrad, with doctors and dentists, as well as nurseries and schools, and the nearest hospital is located in Dimitrovgrad.

Natural landmarks

Through the village an old Roman road passes and there were found two miliary columns - one in the village and second large unlabeled column just 1.5 km from Troyan.

On the Luda Yana river was built Trojan dam, which creates excellent conditions for fishing.

In the area of Troyan forest4 km west of the village, in a fountain are built in marble blocks, which are probably remains from a Thracian sanctuary and in the next hight in the Manastircheto area are preserved ancient Roman buildings.

The village is unique with the nearby mineral hot springs, known for their healing properties. Yet are not created necessary conditions for the use of this natural wealth, although they are known for more than 20 years.
