Dekov is a village in North Bulgaria. It is located in Belene municipality, Pleven region.
It is 6 km south of the town of Belene and 54 km northeast of the town of Pleven. The capital Sofia is 220 km southwest.
It is situated in the Danubian plain in the proximity to the flow of Danube river and its altitude is 103 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by cold winter and hot summer.
The permanent population is about 500 people.
Bus and railway transportation connects it to the other settlements. The main streets are asphalted and with lightning. There are constructed water and electricity systems. All mobile operators have coverage.
Here are functioning town hall, primary school, community center, kindergarten, stores and restaurant. Specialized medical assistance you can get at the hospital in the town of Belene. In the town are also working high schools.
In the yard of the school is situated the building of the renovated museum in which are exhibited ethnographic collection with restored objects.
The most interesting touristic sight on the territory of the municipality is natural park Persina. It encompasses the 19 Belenski islands. It is unique and significant ecologically for here are located three biosphere reserves:
Danube river with its impressive width near the town of Belene, beautiful banks and slow flow offers opportunities for the development of hunting, fishing and routе tourism.
