Gorno trape is a village in the municipality of Troyan, Lovech region.
It is situated 10 km west of Troyan, 41 km south of Lovech, 6 km east of Shipkovo, 11 km northeast of Chiflik and about 163 km east of Sofia.
The village is located at the foot of Stara Planina, at an altitude of 530 m. The climate is characterized with cool summers and cold, snowy winter.
The population numbers about 170 people. There is transportation to and from Troyan.
In the village there are a tavern, store, several houses for recreation and guest houses. The nearest schoolyard is in Shipkovo and closest kindergartens and hospitals - in Troyan.

About 20 km away from there village is situated Beklemeto area where there are two ski runs, trails for cross country skiing and biathlon, and hotels.
