Zemlen is a village in South Bulgaria. It is located in Radnevo Municipality, Stara Zagora region.

It is 15 km southeast from the town of Radnevo, 21 km north from the city of Stara Zagora and 234 km northwest from the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia city.

The village is situated at 190 m altitude. With modest number of inhabitants - 233.

The climate is temperate continental. Mild winter and hot summer.

The economy of all villages in the municipality and that of Zemlen is basically built on the development of energy complex Maritsa East. The population of the villages in the municipality is with one of the highest average incomes in the country.

The village has a church and operating community center "George Raichev, which performs the function of a library. The nearest schools and kinder gartens are in the town of Radnevo. Hospitals and doctors in the town of Radnevo are looking after the health of the inhabitants of the village.

Attractions

Near the village in the town of Radnevo is located the church "St. Ivan Rilski" - built in 1873 from donations. Nowadays it is declared a cultural and historical heritage.

Other cultural and historical heritage in the area is the archaeological museum "Maritsa Iztok" in the town of Radnevo. Palaeontological museum has a collection of bones of different animals, a collection of pottery and bronze vessels, gold jewelry from the Roman era and a numismatic collection of silver coins. Gold and silver ornaments from the early Bronze Age, which have no analogue in Bulgaria are kept in the museum.

Overall, the municipality has the opportunity to develop wine, historical and cultural tourism.
