Vrattsa

Vratsa is a village in Western Bulgaria, part of Municipality Kyustendil, District of Kyustendil.

It stands about 8 km south-west of the town of Kyustendil.

The village population is about 190 residents.

The relief is low-mountainous, with average altitude 800 m.
The climate in the region is continental, characterized with mild winters and warm and dry summers.

Vratsa is with well-developed infrastructure, including partly asphalted and lighted streets, electric and water-supply systems, telephones and coverage of mobile operators and Internet access.

European route E871 passes through the village, linking it to the town of Kyustendil, border town of Gyueshevo and the capital of Sofia.

There are regular busses to and from Kyustendil.

There is a town house in the village.

GP visits the settlement, providing medical care. There are shops and restaurants.

The closest hospitals and schools are in Kyustendil.

Attractions

Vratsa is close to Osogovska Mountain, with the highest point of Ruen Peak (2251 m) and is one of the 100 National tourist destinations. The climate in the area allows year-round tourism.

St.Dimitriy village  church was built in 1910.

The short distance to Kyustendil makes possible visiting the spas and Roman baths in the center of town.
Hisarlaka hill is about 2 km south-east of the town. The fortress was built at the end of IV and the begging of V century.
