The village of Nefela

Nefela is a village in northwestern Bulgaria, part of Vratsa, Vratsa Region.

It is 3 km northwest of the town of Vratsa.

The population numbers about 600 inhabitants.

The terrain is hilly plain with an average altitude of about 290 m.

The climate in the region is temperate in winter temperature are around -2ºC and in summer around 23ºC.

The village is well-developed and infrastructure, including complete electrification, water system, telephone, internet and cable TV.

Regular buses and taxis that connect it with the town of Vratsa. The closest railway is in the administrative center and the line is Lom-Vratza.

There is a kindergarten and a church. It has a network of shops and restaurants.

The village has a farm for chickens. The main occupation is farming.

A general practitioner serves the population of the village.

 

Places of interest and tourism

Close to Nefela pass two rivers – Dabnik and Leva, which offers good conditions for hiking, walking, organizing picnics and fishing.

About 15 km away is the dam Beli Izvor.

The convenient connection of the village with Vratsa allows for visits to close attractions such as Ledenika cave and Vola top, where a monument ossuary in memory of the fallen in the battle for liberation from Ottoman slavery. Every year on June 2 a celebration is held.
