Sadovo village

Sadovo is a village in North-Eastern Bulgaria, part of  Avren municipality, Varna region. It is located some 7 km away from the municipal center of Avren and 27 km away from the city of Varna.

general information

The climate is temperate-continental, characterized by a hot summer and a cold winter with plenty of snowfalls. The relief is flat-hill. Population - approximately 350 people. Altitude - 185 m. The former name of the village used to be Suludja Ali.

In the village there is a community center with a library, a kindergarten, a grocery shop, a cafe, a mayoralty, a post-office, an Orthodox church, a tavern. The nearest doctor's office is the one in Avren village, located 7 km away from Sadovo. The pupils from Sadovo are attending the village in Avren.
The village is supplied with water and electricity on a regular basis. The roads are in a good condition. Regular bus transportation connects the village to the city of Varna and the nearby villages. Communications: coverage of all mobile operators, a telephone exchange, satellite TV.
The local people are traditionally engaged into farming. Many of them are commuting to their jobs in the city of Varna.
The village is tucked among low green hills, and a deciduous forest spreads nearby. Its main advantages are the clear air, the tranquillity and the natural beauty of the surrounding nature.

landmarks

  •  The church of St. Dimitrius of Thessaloniki is the oldest one in the municipality. It was built by Bulgarian settlers in the 19th century. Back then the village was inhabited by nineteen families - ten Turkish and nine Bulgarian. The first thing the Bulgarian settlers did was to build a cell school and a chapel. Later on the church was constructed. The local people donated the money to purchase the bell, the icons and the church plate.
