Katunets is а village in municipality of Ugarchin, Lovech region.
It is located 21 km northeast of the city Ugarchin, 25 km northwest of Lovech, 33 km south of Pleven, about 145 km northeast of Sofia.
It is situated in the foothills of the Balkan Mountains, at an altitude ranging between 230 and 325 meters. The river Katuneshka passes through the village. The climate is characterized by late spring, hot summers and cold winters.
The population is about 460. There is bus service to the city of Pleven and Ugarchin as well as neighboring cities.
The village has a town hall, church "St. Michael" and several retail stores. Nearest kindergarten and school are in the municiplaity city. Medical care is covered by a doctor and a dentist, there is a hospital in Lovech.

At about 20 km away from the village is located the Canyon River Chernelka near Gortalovo village.
The area around the village Uglen / 23 km / is an attractive place for Bulgarian and foreign cavers, since there are 28 caves.
In Lovech is located on Covered Bridge Master Kolyo Ficheto-over 160 restored old houses and building museum and art gallery in the quarter "Varosha".
In Pleven are interested to visit Pleven Epic Panorama, also Kaylaka Park, the Museum of Wine Skobelev park and house-museum "Tsar Liberator Alexander II".
