Brestak is a village in North-Eastern Bulgaria, part of Valchi Dol municipality, Varna region. It is located 60 km south-west to the city of Varna, 20 km north-west to the town of Dobrich and 6 km to north-west to the town of Valchi Dol.
The climate is temperate-continental featured by a hot summer, sunny autumn, cold winter with plenty of snowfalls and cool spring. The relief is flat. Latitude - 394 m. The population numbers to approximately 1 000 people, as the locals belong to an ethnic group named gagauz - Orthodox Christians who speak both Bulgarian and Turkish. The former name of the village used to be Karaagach. Several Thracian settlements and a necropolis dated back to the 8th - 9th century BC has been revealed near Brestak.
In the village there is a community center with a library, a kindergarten, food shops, two large parks, a mayoralty, a restaurant, a cafe, a doctor's office, a church. The local people are proud with their football team which takes part into the regional championship. A petrol station is located some 6 km away from the village. The infrastructure is well-organized - the roads are in a good condition, constant electricity and water-supply is available. Public transportation to the city of Varna and the nearby villages is available twice a day.
The nature is very beautiful and ecologically clean. Near the village there is a dam-lake stocked with fish (carp, carassius and zander) and a river - wonderful places for both fishing and relaxation. The village territory is covered with fertile soil which provides excellent conditions for growing fruits, vegetables, grapes and grains and developing the production of bio-products.
