Bukovlak is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Pleven municipality, Pleven region

It is 6 km north of the town of Pleven and 164 km northeast from the capital Sofia

It is located in valley area and its altitude is 107 m. The climate is characterized by hot and dry summer while the winter is cold. Lots of precipitation falls during the months June and February. The region is one of the most often struck by storm hails in Northern Bulgaria.

Bukovlak is well maintained village. There is regular transportation to the town of Pleven four times a day. There are constructed water and electricity systems and is almost completely built sewerage everywhere. The central square and the streets are being reconstructed. All mobile operators have coverage.

The permanent population is about 3965 people.

Here are functioning town hall, church, community center, primary school and kindergarten as well as medical center with three GPs and pharmacy. There are stores and restaurants. On the territory of the town of Pleven are situated the nearest hospital and high schools. 

Landmarks that you should visit and that are part of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria are the mausoleum-chapel "George Pobedonosets", Pleven Epopee 1877 and the Regional History Museum. 
Park Kaylaka is also favorite place for relaxation and walks. 

Natural phenomenon that you can go on an excursion to is the canyon of Chernelka river that is protected area. Here you can also see Kapchuka cave

Tabakova cheshma dam (5 km) is good place for fishing.
