Village of Brestovo

Brestovo is a village in northern Bulgaria. It is located in the Municipality Lovech, District Lovech.

It is situated 22 km east of Lovech, 30 km north of Sevlievo, 72 km west of Veliko Tarnovo and 169 kilometers northeast of the capital - Sofia.

The altitude of the village is 440 meters. The climate is temperate. Summer is relatively hot and the winter - cold. The village is sheltered from cold north winds. The prevailing western winds.

The population numbers about 207 people. The main livelihood is agriculture. The beekeeping is very well developed.

The access to the village is accomplished by road. The village has electricity and water supply. There is coverage of Internet and mobile operators. The village has regular bus service to Lovech.

Brestovo Village has a town hall, community center, an ancient church, doctor's office, tourist information center. The nearest schools, hospitals and kindergartens are located in Lovech. The nearest dentist is in the village Kakrina which is 5 km west of the village Brestovo.

Council of the village is celebrated every year on 7th May

The surrounding area is rich in game and offers opportunities for hunting. Near the village there are several dams for fishing. The district favor the development of rural tourism. 11 km north of the village is Devetashka cave.

32 km northeast are Krushuna waterfalls.

In Lovech you can visit the Covered Bridge Kolyu Ficheto Varosha - over 160 restored old houses, museum and art gallery building in the quarter "Varosha".
