Slakovtsi is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Breznik municipality, Pernik region.
It is 9 km south of the town of Breznik and 18 km northwest of the town of Pernik. The capital Sofia is 49 km east.
The village is located in mountain area and its altitude is 741 m. The climate is temperate. The average temperature durnig the coldest month January is -1,7°С and the average temperature in the hottest month July is 19,6°С.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. There is constructed infrastructure as well as electricity and water systems.
The permanent population is 311 people.
Here are functioning town hall, community center with library, store and pub. Hospital, dentists and pharmacies you can find on the territory of the town of Breznik where there also works the nearest GP. The nearest schools and kindergartens are also located there.
Tourism and landmarks
Complex for relaxation and fishing "Slakovtsi dam" offers excellent conditions for rest and sport fishing. It includes new hotel, restaurant bungalows, coffee shop and store. It is being stocked with fish every week. The bungalows are situated in beautiful cherry garden. The complex also offers fresh live fish for sale. Amenities for the people that visit are bays and gazebos.
The church "Uspenie Bogorodichno" dates back to the Renaissance and is art and architectural monument with local significance.
The local people preserve the Bulgarian traditions and the custom Surva - there is survakari group in the village and it makes authentic masks, costumes and bells and takes part in the survakari games.
