village of Krivonos

Krivonos is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Breznik municipality, Pernik region.

It is 15 km west of the town of Breznik and 35 km northwest of the town of Pernik. The capital Sofia is 64 km east.

Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.

It is located in mountain area and its altitude is 1073 m. It is surrounded by the mountains Lyubash and Straja as well as the hills Mogila and Cherverlyuga. The climate is temperate with clearly expressed temperature inversions in the valleys. The average temperature in the coldest month January is -1,7°С and the average temperature in the hottest month July is 19,6°С.    

The permanent population is about 15 people. The locals cultivate crops - potatoes, pepper and beans. There are also good conditions for cattle breeding. 

Hospital, dentists and pharmacies are working in the town of Breznik. Schools and kindergartens you can find in the village of Noevtsi (18 km) and in Breznik. 

In the village is constructed church "St Nickolay Mirikliiski" which is constructed in 2004 and reproduces the architecture and the frescoes of the old church in the village that is no longer in use. At the foot of Lyubash peak is hidden "St Nickola" monastery built in XIX century.

The nature in area is pristine and the air is fresh. This combination and the proximity to the mountain make Krivonos excellent location for alternative and rural tourism. 

Just 15 km away is the Vrabcha waterfall. At the same distance is located the picturesque Erma River Gorge

People who enjoy fishing could take advantage of the conditions which Breznishki Izvor (5 km) and Lilyantsi (4 km) dams offer.
