Kostelevo (or Kostalevo) is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is located in municipality Vratsa, Vratsa district.

The village is situated 6 km east direction from the town of Vratsa and 16 km southeastern dirction from the town of Mezdra.

The population is about 800 inhabitants.

The terrain is hilly plain with average altitude of 400 m. The climate in the area is temperate continental with mild winter and temperatures of -1ºС and warm and dry summer with average temperatures of 24ºС.

The village is well-developed and has electricity, water system, partial sewerage system, telephones, internet, cable and digital TV.

Regular bus transport (line №10) and taxis connect the village with the administrative center – Vratsa.

There is a kindergarten, community center, playgrounds and church. General practitioner serves the needs of the inhabitants. Also there are several shops and cafes.

The closest education and medical centers are in Vratsa. There are several dairies in the village.

Tourism

In the area of Kostelevo there are several Thracian burial mounds. Northern direction of the village is the ruins of a big Bulgarian medieval fortress called Gradishteto. It is over the Rechka River and is visible from all around.

Villa Top is 14 km away and is famous for the battle for the liberation from Ottoman rule and the death of one of the most decent Bulgarian – Hristo Botev. There is a monument-ossuary. Every year on June the 2nd there is a celebration.
Varshets offers wonderful resort amenities. There are two balneological public health stations, drinking pavilion, polyclinic with special diagnostic and physiotherapeutic cabinets, numerous hotels and boarding-houses, paths and sport terrains, areas for climate treatment and prevention and others. There are well arranged private rooms.
The remainings of Roman balneological facilities and objects which were found in the town of Varshets bear record of the use of the healing mineral water in the antiquity.
The mineral waters gush from a number of springs. Their temperature varies from 36,4ºС to 38ºС with a total capacity of 15 l/sec.
