Zelenigrad is a village in West Bulgaria. It is in Tran municipality, Pernik region.

It is 10 km west in the town of Tran and 56 km northwest of the town of Pernik. The capital Sofia is 81 km southeast.

It is located in mountain region in the Rui mountain and on the bank of Erma river, its altitude is 888 m. The climate is with clearly expressed four seasons - there are warm but not hot summer while the winter is severe. The spring is cool and with lots of precipitation and ends in the end of March the beginning of April and the fall is also warm. 

 

The permanent population is about 111 people. The village itself is separated into three neighborhoods: Prudishte, Gremage and Stranska mahala.

The nearest GPs, dentists, hospital, kindergarten and school work in the town of Tran.

Tourism and landmarks

There is constructed Orthodox temple "St Nikola".

Its area is inhabited by rare bird species as mardogazitsa and sivogusha Accentor. The nature is extremely beautiful with gorgeous rocks and rock formations with interesting shapes that the river has formed. 

It was inhabited in Thracian time and there are traces of a Roman and Ostgotsko presence. In the Archaeological Museum in Sofia can be seen the found in the area ceramics, capitals, columns, steles, tombstones, bronozvi cups, metal belt, silver torques, bracelets, fibulas and coins.

Among the landmarks of the area are the beautiful gorge of Erma riverRui peakthe rock church "St Petka"the Tran monastery and the Vrabcha monastery.
