Village of Delyanovtsi

Delyanovtsi is a village situated in the Central part of Northern Bulgaria. It is part of Svishtov Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region.

The village is located 70 km north-west from town of Veliko Tarnovo, 38 km south-west from town of Svishtov, 55 km west from town of Byala, 11 km north from town of Levski and 46 km east from town of Pleven.

Its population is approximately 150 people.

Delyanovtsi spreads out the middle part of the Danube plain, on the right banks of Osam River. It is surrounded by hills and is set 136 m above the sea level. Danube River is about 38 km away.

The climate characterizes with warm summer and cold winter. Most of the rains fall in the beginning of the summer - May and June.

The village is well-developed and provided with electricity, water, sewerage system and telephone net. It comprises a town hall, a post office, a church, a community centre and shops. Health services, transportation and schools are available in village of Morava (7 km away).

Delyanovtsi is just 2 km away from the main road E-85 which connects Pleven-Byala-Ruse and Pleven-Polski trambesh-Veliko Tarnovo.

The main means of living of the population is agriculture (planting wheat, rye and barley) and stock-breeding (cows, sheep, goats, pigs and poultry). Vine-growing is well-developed in the region as well.

Tourism

The local place of interest is the church 'Reverend Petka Bulgarska', which was built in 1866.

Good place for recreation is Osam River. The fishermen may catch grey mullet, carp, sheat-fish, Danube bleak, etc.

Part of the protected area of Obnova is in the settlement of Delyanovtsi. There could be seen various flora and fauna. The zone is famous with its protected wild birds such as dalmatian pelican, pygmy cormorant, little and Eurasian bitterns, different species of herons, etc.
