Gorna Vrabcha is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Zemen municipality, Pernik region

It is 17 km north of the town of Zemen and 39 km west of the town of Pernik. The village of Divlya is 9 km southwest and the capital Sofia is 70 northeast. 

It is located in mountain area and the houses are scattered on the hills of Rudini mountain and its altitude is 862 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by hot summers and cold winters. 

The permanent population is about 80 people. 

Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. There are constructed water and electricity systems.

Here are functioning mayor's vice royalty, two community centers, store and pub. GP works in the village of Divlya and the nearest polyclinic, schools and kindergarten are on the territory of the town of Zemen. Hospital you can find in the town of Pernik. 

Tourism and landmarks

The locals have preserved the tradition of the survakari games. 

The nature around the village is picturesque with lots of caves, karst formations and oak forests. About a kilometer from the village there could be seen the remains from ancient fortress. According to the historians the area is populated since XX century and during the Crusades some knights decide to settle here. 

St Spas monastery and the church Vaznesenie Gospodne in the village of Gorna vrabcha often are center of cultural festivals and gatherings. The temple is set XIV-XVI century and consists of complex with church and residential building. 
Other cultural landmarks in the area are Chepinski monastery (3 km) and Giginski monastery (10 km).

The people that enjoy fishing could use the opportunities created by the Pchelina dam (13 km).
