Venelin is a village in North-Eastern Bulgaria, part of Dolni Chiflik municipality, Varna region. It is located 30 km away to the north-west from the city of Varna, 8 km to the south from the municipal center of Dolni Chiflik and 20 km away from the sea-coast.
The climate is temperate-continental, influenced by the proximity of the Black Sea - the summer is cool, the autumn is rainy, the wither is mild and the spring - sunny. The relief is flat-hilly. The population numbers to approximately 860 people. Altitude - 129 m. The former name of the village used to be Saradar.
In the village there is a mayoralty, an Orthodox church built in 1869, shops, a cafe, a pub, a community center established in 1903, a school and a kindergarten. The infrastructure is excellent. The village is supplied with water and electricity on a regular basis. Many water-fountains are built providing drinkable water with an excellent quality which is also supplied to the neighbouring villages. The roads are in a very good condition. Regular bus transportation connects Venelin to the city of Varna and the nearby villages.
The area surrounding the village is overgrown with deciduous forests. The river of Kamchiya passes near the village, and a small river, which rises from the foot of Avren plateau and flows into Kamchia, is running through the village. Venelin is one of the villages in the area to attract with its remarkable nature, clear air and various opportunities fro both fishing and hunting. Excellent conditions are present for the development of eco and rural tourism.
The locals are predominantly engaged into agriculture. During the past few years the herb-gathering has become popular among the people in the area, since the region is ecologically clean and a great variety of medicinal herbs are naturally growing there.
