Breste is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Cherven bryag municipality, Pleven region. It is the smallest settlement in the municipality.

It is 11 km southwest of the town of Cherven bryag and 70 km in the same direction of Pleven. The capital Sofia is 132 km southwest and the neighboring village Reselets is 4 km southeast.

Bus transportation connects the village with the other settlements. There are constructed electricity, water and phone systems.

It is situated on the border between the Predbalcan mountain and the Danubian Plain on an altitude of 298 m. The climate is temperate and falls within the continental climate zone. The winter is cold while the summer is cool.

The small river Belilkata passes near the village.

The permanent population is about 440 people.

Here there are town hall, food store, pub, kindergarten and library. The nearest school and GP are located in the neighboring village Reselets. Hospital, dentists and pharmacy you can find the municipality.

Tourism and landmarks

The orthodox church "St Dimitrii" is in good condition and it is also renovated. Breste is a perfect place for relaxation, excursions and tourism.

In the area near the village are found more than 40 caves most of them are chasm caves and are not prepared for visitors but are suitable for people with the needed training and outfit.

Chuklite are groups of rock pyramids situated in the area between the villages Breste, Reselets and Kameni pole. They are formatted from limestone formations in the gorgeous canyon of Rachene river. They are extremely picturesque and you can go to them only by foot.

In proximity passes Iskar river which offers great opportunities for tourism, fishing, sun bathing and relaxation in the nature.
