Begunovtsi is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Breznik municipality, Pernik region. 

It is 8 km southwest of Breznik and 28 km northwest of Pernik. The village of Noevtsi is 6 km southeast and Sofia is 57 km east. 

It is located in mountain area and its altitude is 724 m. Near the village passes Razhditsa river. The climate is temperate with clearly expressed temperature inversions in the valleys and is influenced by the low mountain relief.   

The permanent population is about 126 people. There are constructed water and electricity installations. 

In the village there are post office, shop, mayor's viceroyalty, community center with library, stadium and football club. The nearest kindergarten, school and GP are in the village of Noevtsi. Hospital, dentists and pharmacies you can find in the town of Breznik. 

Tourism and landmarks

The church "St Nickolay" in the village is dated back to the Renaissance and is renovated. Its iconostasis is unique and is from the XVII century. 

Near Begunovtsi is constructed a dam with the same name as the village which offers great conditions for sport fishing and rowing with boats.

In proximity at the foot of Tumba peak (1880 m) is located Giginski monastery "St st Kozma and Damyan"

Bardoto area is famous for its "zhelyazna" mineral water which springs from the south part of the hill in Leskov dol area. The mineral spring attracts healthy and sick people from the ancient past for its healing characteristics which are due to the rich mineral chemical compounds and valuable physico-chemical and and physiological characteristics.
