Residential complex Obelya is located in the Northern part of Sofia city. To the East it borders with Lomsko Shosee Blvd. - one of the main road arteries in the town; to the South with Vrabnitsa quarter and Bakarena Fabrika cemetery; to the West - with Sofia-Belgrade Railway Lines and to the North - with the north Sofia Railway line.
Nevertheless it is an end quarter, there are no industrial enterprises and nearby passing high-ways and that is why there aren't any problems with the environment. One of the priority of Obelya is the remoteness from the noisy downtown centre. There are two schools, a children garden, a post-office, a medical-centre and a police station over there. Two big supermarkets - HIT and PRAKTIKER are built for the comfort and the needs of the residents. Three indoor swimming-pools in the summer, a modern newly built-up gym all-year-round.
Disadvantages - bad conditions of some streets, little greenery.
Obelya is one of the recent panel-building quarters in Sofia. The residential blocks of flats are still not amortized, like some other quarters with buildings built before 30-40 years. Along with the blocks, there are family houses as well.
Now it becames a preffered region, because of the closeness to the metrsostation.
