Town of Kozloduy

Kozloduy is situated in the municipality of Kozloduy, District Vratsa.

It is located 82 km north of Vratsa, 31 km northeast of the city of Valchedram and about 190 km north of the capital Sofia.

It is located in the Danube valley, on the banks of the Danube. The altitude is 33 meters. The climate is characterized by warm summers and cold winters.

The population is about 13,000 people. The city is the second number of residents in the area. There is regular bus transport to thecities of Pleven, Vratsa, Vidin, Berkovitsa and other places.

The city ahs built electricity and water supply systems and sewerage. There is range of mobile operators, the streets are paved. Kozloduy has many shops, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, gas stations and more. A town hall, police station, district court, three schools, vocational school of nuclear energy, kindergarten and three united kindergartens. Medical care is covered by the hospital and two medical centers. The city offers accommodation for tourists - there are hotels and guest houses.

In city is situated the only operating nuclear plant in the country.

Landmarks:

National History Museum - branch "steamer Radetzky" - museum ship was restored in 1966. It is the only floating museum in the Balkans.
Municipal Museum - exhibition on the banks of the Danube "Botev Park" was opened on 27.05.2004g. and present national liberation struggle of the people of the NPP and its surroundings arrival Botev and the liberation of the region from the Ottoman yoke 1877. Special attention is devoted to the appreciation of the local population to the feat of Botev and participants in the national liberation movement.
National Archaeological Reserve "Augusta" is located about 12 km from the city, 5 km from the village Harlets. Excavations have uncovered a fortress with three gates and thirteen towers.
