Town of Dolna Oryahovitsa

Dolna Oryahovitsa is a town in Gorna Oryahovitsa municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region.
The town is situated 10 km east from Veliko Tarnovo city, 3 km north from town of Gorna Oryahovitsa, about 6 km north from Lyaskovets, about 57 km north-east from Gabrovo city and around 250 km from the capital Sofia city.
Dolna Oryahovitsa is located on the riverside of Yantra, on about 80 m altitude. The population is around 3200 people.
The climate characterizes with warm but not hot summer and cold winter.
The town benefits with well-developed infrastructure- it is fully supplied with electricity and water, the sewerage is under construction at the moment. There are shops, restaurants, cafes and commercial areas.
An elementary school, kindergarten and library oprate in the town.
There are several elite universities near by: Sts. Kiril and Metody in Veliko Tarnovo city, The National Military University Vasil Levski and the Technical university in Ruse city.
Landmarks and tourism:
There are no hotels or family houses providing accomodations in Dolna Oryahovitsa. But Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa and village of Arbanasi offer many hotels, motels and famili houses with excellent conditions for rest and accomodations.
Yantra river provides an opportunity for developing of fishing tourism in the region.

The Ethnographic house-museum in Dolna Oryahovitsa - it is located in a fully renovated house in typical Bulgarian style. Over 1000 exhibits, documents and photos are kept here which present the style of live in the region.
National library Hristo Kozlev - it was established in 1883. Today, teather, dance and music activities develop in it.
The Historey Museum in town of Gorna Oryahovitsa- here the visitors can see exhibits from the Neolith to the times of the Bulgarian Revival.
Transfiguration Monastery- one of the bigesst Bulgarian monasteries located about 20 km away from Dolna Oryahovitsa.
Architectural reserve Arbanasi- a reserve kept the spirit of the architecture of the Bulgarian Revival period. It is situated about 6 km from town.
Veliko Tarnovo city - one of the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria, well-known for its rich history and landmarks.
Transport:
There is regular bus transport from and to town of Gornа Oryahovitsa and Veliko Tarnovo city.
Dolna Oryahovitsa has very good transport links because of its closeness to Gorna Oryahovitsa as well as the international road E-85 from Helsinki to Greece and Turkey and the highway Sofia-Varna.
There is a railway station in Gorna Oryahovitsa - one of the biggest railway junctions in Bulgaria. It operates international lines as well as routes in the whole country.
The International airport "Gorna Oryahovitsa" is the fifth biggest one in Bulgaria. It operates flights in the country and whole Europe.
The bus station in Gorna Oryahovitsa provides trasnport to and from Varna, Burgas, Sofia and the entire country.
