Rabrovo is a village in northwestern Bulgaria, a part of Boynitsa municipality, Vidin District.

It is located near the Bulgarian-Serbian border, about 23 km northeast of Boynitsa village, 28 km west of Vidin and approximately 220 km northwest of Sofia city.

The terrain is hilly with an average altitude of 201 m. The climate is characterized by relatively cold winters and hot summers with little rainfall.

The village has electricity and water. The majority of the streets are paved. There is an operational street lighting, mobile coverage and bus transportation to Vidin city and the surrounding villages.

Rabrovo' s population is about 400 people.

The village has an active town hall, a church, a primary school, a kindergarten and stores.
Health care of the population is being provided by a doctor and a dentist. Specialized assistance can be obtained at the medical centers of Vidin.

Landmarks and tourism

Near Rabrovo, about 3 km northeast are the ruins of Albotin rock monastery which was active in the 13-14 century, and in 1927 was declared a cultural monument.

In the area you can also visit:

  • Petkov Tserak Waterfall, located in the area of Topolovets village/47 km southeast/;
  • The remains of the Roman fortress "Petsino kale", the church of "Holy Trinity" and the monument of Puyo voyvoda /leader/ in Boynitsa village;
  • The remains of the fortress "Castra Martis", located in the center of Kula town /about 34 km southwest/. On the outskirts of the city is the eponymous lake, which offers good opportunities for fishing and water sports.
  • The fortress "Baba Vida", the Turkish town hall "Koluka", turned into a museum, the Mosque and library of Osman Pazvantoglu and many other cultural and architectural monuments, which the city of Vidin is famous for.
