Work has begun on the largest BGN 18 mln project for the introduction of e-government. It was launched by Ivailo Moscovski, Minister of Transport, IT and Communications, who signed four contracts with the companies to implement the activities in the different lots which are part of the project. The funds will be allocated under Operational Programme Administrative Capacity. The selected companies are Ciela, Sirma-Interconsult, Siensis-Abati and ABS - Bulgaria.

“The main objective of the project is to provide administrative services from a single safe place - the government portal - and to ensure the automatic exchange of information between the administrative units instead of demanding the same documents from us each time,” Moscovski said during the ceremony. According to him, business representatives will have easy access to BULSTAT, the Commercial Register, records on excise and customs duties, electronic patients' charts, etc. The deadline for the implementation of the project is March 2013. In 2011, a total of 65 administrative units reported that they offer e-services.
