Water Tower Art fest 2011 to start in Sofia
The fifth Water Tower Art fest 2011 will take place between June 24 and 30 2011 at various locations in Sofia.
The main venue is the Water Tower in region of Lozenets, at the corner of Galichitsa Street and Teodosii Turnovski Street.
The tower was built by an Austrian architect, the aim at the time to deliver to the highest buildings. It has four platforms, facing each of the world`s compass directions, each of which can be darkened for video installations purposes or lit depending on the art works being displayed.
Artists from the UK, Bulgaria, Israel, US, Poland, the Czech Republic, Norway, the Philippines and many others will present their interactive web installations.
The start is on June 24, at 6pm.
The second venue is the old mineral baths in Sofia, which will open for visitor sfrom June 25 at 8.30pm, until June 30.
Object and sound installations can be seen at Showroom Roca on 16 Maria Louisa Boulevard from June 25, from 5 pm to 8pm.
The ancient arch of Serdika at Serdika metro station and the Military Museum (92 Cherkovna Str.) will host more installations and art works till June 30.
