Visa cash back transactions register a 252% growth in Bulgaria
Visa Europe reported a 252% increase in the number of transactions made with the Visa cash back service in Bulgaria. This growth was registered in the first half of 2010 (January-June), compared to the second half of 2009 (July-December). Another two retail chains - Metro Cash & Carry Bulgaria and Fantastico – have been offering Visa cash back since last month. This makes a total of 13 Metro Cash & Carry supermarkets and 34 Fantastico stores where cardholders are able to use their Visa cards to draw small amounts of cash when paying for their purchases. Within a year - from July 2009 to June 2010, Visa Europe reported an average increase of 80.7% in the number of cash back transactions on a quarterly basis. The biggest quarterly increase was registered during the first six months of 2010. The cash back transactions processed by the company in April-June grew by 124.4%, compared to January - March.
