Totyu Mladenov reports a decline in the grey economy

The grey economy has shrunk and the number of people working without contracts has been reduced, Social Minister Totyu Mladenov reported on Monday. After last week's statement by Finance Minister Simeon Djankov that the private sector makes the economy, now Totyu Mladenov redirected the best of the social economy to businesses.

Thanks to the largest businesses and control institutions in Bulgaria, the level of the grey economy has dropped by seven points over the past two years, Mladenov said. He was adamant that these efforts will continue. Also, the number of people who work without contracts has decreased by 57%, Mladenov added.

"I have always thought that the business is the one that can make the best social policy. The state is the one which should create the conditions for this," said the Social Minister.
