The construction of the roundabout near Burgas begins
"The construction of the Burgas-Sozopol-Sredets roundabout junction begins on Sunday," said Bozidar Yotov, Chairman of the National Road Infrastructure Agency (NRIA), quoted by Focus agency. The project is worth BGN 4.2 mln, Hydrostroy of Varna is the building contractor, and the set term of its implementation is 18 months. The funds for it have been provided under the Transit Roads V programme.
The section will be implemented in two stages, and projects the construction of a 452-meter-long trestle and a roundabout. Construction activities must be carried out without stopping the traffic along the road connecting Burgas and Sozopol and the Meden Rudnik housing quarter in Burgas.
According to plans, the roundabout intersection should be completed by the end of June 2011. Hydrostroy-Varna will be responsible for the quality of the road construction for a year after commissioning the facility. If defects appear within this period, NRIA will hold the contractor liable for these.
