Subway construction works will not close whole boulevard in Sofia
One of the lanes of Lomsko Shose boulevard in Sofia will remain open for vehicular traffic while the line of Sofia Metro is being built there. We will update the construction technology, Sofia Metropolitan Director engineer Stoyan Bratoev told FOCUS News Agency.
He says the lane will not be closed, because there are many shops on the boulevard and their owners would not be able to stock them. A few days ago the company announced that the boulevard would be closed for two years, because it would begin building the second subway line, which runs right under the road. The announcement triggered protests. The second metro line will be completed in the second half of 2012.
