Sofia urban mobility centre uploads updated city parking map

City-planning

altThe Sofia centre for urban mobility (UM) has uploaded an interactive street map featuring the latest parking areas available around the city, in the so called Blue Zone and beyond. The map shows all paid parking areas, including those in shopping malls and other retail centres, Marchelo Dokovski UM co manager was quoted as saying by the Bulgarian news agency (BTA) on April 9 2010.

The map includes 46 car parks with more than 50 parking slots each, and a total of 6194 parking places, Investor says.

It predominantly encompasses the Sofia area, falling within the Blue zone as well as the Yellow and Green zones, which are designated for temporary parking.

"The map does not intend to be comprehensive, rather to give an idea of available parking zones, as it is possible for there to be other large parking areas that are not featured," Investor said.

According to Dokovski, all areas featured on the map cost at least two leva an hour.

Most of the parking areas are concentrated in the western zone, in the boroughs of Vuzrajdane, Serdika, Krassna Polyana, Ilinden and Sredets. Some of the largest car parks are featured there with capacity of up to 1033.
