Sofia’s Ariana Lake ice rink opens for winter season

Sofia’s Ariana Lake ice rink opened for the winter season on December 4 2011, with a ceremony attended by mayor Yordanka Fandukova.
 
The rink will be open 24 hours a day.
 
From 8am to 10am, entrance is free for all pupils from schools in the Bulgarian capital city.
 
Entry fees are the same as last year, four leva to rent ice skates, five leva for entrance. An entry ticket is valid for an hour and a half on the ice.

Bulgarian National Television said that the Ariana rink, which is outdoors but covered, was the biggest of its kind on the Balkans.
