Private Turkish companies to export gas to Bulgaria

Private Turkish companies will export natural gas to Bulgaria. The project for export was discussed at a meeting between Bulgarian Minister of Energy Delyan Dobrev and his Turkish counterpart Taner Yildiz, BIA informed. According to data from the Ihlas Haber Ajansi, the two ministers discussed a project for ways to meet Bulgaria's needs for gas with the participation of the private sector. “If there are private sector companies, willing to export natural gas to Bulgaria, they can apply for a licence,” Turkish Minister Taner Yildiz said. In March, Bulgaria and Turkey decided to construct a joint gas pipeline. Dobrev and Yildiz signed the declaration. During the visit of Bulgaria's PM to Ankara, his Turkish colleague Erdogan promised that Bulgaria will never again experience natural gas problems. However, PM Boyko Borissov admitted that gas exports from Turkey are far from reality. “Turkey could supply gas only in a critical situation for Bulgaria,” he said.
