The State Fund Agriculture (SFA) has approved subsidies worth BGN 4.798 mln under the measures 311 "Diversification into non-agricultural activities" and 312 "Support for the creation and development of micro enterprises" of the Rural Development Programme (RDP),” announced officials from SFA.

Some 10 of the projects are for the construction of guest houses with a capacity of between 6 and 28 beds. Another large project envisages the building of a family hotel with 54 beds. Most candidates will also provide attractions for the visitors, such as swimming pools, tourist canteens, audio or video studios or cycling opportunities. Funds from the RDP will be allocated for the building of recreation and sports facilities and of a multipurpose building with an office, a mini market and a bistro as well.

The remaining five projects are for the construction of photovoltaic power plants with a capacity of between 27 and 105 kW.

However, officials from the SFA announced that, until July 6, 2012, farmers who deal with beehives can apply for a “de minimis” aid at the regional departments of the Fund. The planned budget under the scheme is BGN 3.237 mln. The subsidy is BGN 15 per bee family and the exact amount of the aid will be determined after the submission of the requests.

The scheme of “de minimis” aid for beekeepers is being applied for the first time in Bulgaria. The deadline for negotiating the money is July 20 and the subsidy will be paid by July 26.
