Old Sofia comes to life in new exhibition

Culture

When was the last time you saw amazing places in Sofia such as square without cars? If you cannot remember, or the answer is "never", you will have the chance to see for yourself at the photographic exhibition Sofia before the Blue zone from September 19 to September 25 at the capital's Credo Bonum gallery.

The exhibition is organised by Free Sofia Tour Association (http://www.freesofiatour.com) with the support of the Sofia Development Association (http://sofia-da.eu/), Stara Sofia website (http://stara-sofia.com/) and Credo Bonum Foundation (http://credobonum.bg/).

The photos and postcards are part of the Stara Sofia online collection and show the capital before it got buried under innumerable outdoor parking areas and traffic jams.

Guests will see more than 20 familiar places (Shishman Str., Rakovski Str., Battenberg Square, among others) in a totally different, even unrecognisable way. The photos are from different periods in the city's history.

The exhibition at Credo Bonum gallery (2 Slavyanska Str., enter at Benkovski Str.) will have extended working hours. Until September 23 it will be open from 11am until 7pm. On September 24 and 25 it will be open from 3pm to 7pm.
