Now it's made easier for small businesses to absorb EU funds

Part of the conditions for access to EU funding for SMEs will change next year. The Deputy Prime Minister Daniela Bobeva announced it, informed BNR. According to her, there are currently restrictions that deprive these companies of European funds.
Bobeva explained that one change is related to the turnover requirement of companies to enable small companies to participate in public procurement procedures.
To make it easier to absorb EU funds under the Operational Programmes, bridge financing will be provided by the Bank for the development of small and medium enterprises.
The Vice Premier however clarified that there will be a ceiling for Bank financing for development, but still do not know what will be said. She explained that the details and the organization were discussed in a meeting with Prime Minister Oresharski. The next month is expected to be ready concept and business plan of the Development Bank.
According to Finance Minister Peter Tchobanov to reduce the risk of under-utilization of EU in the current period, it will be redirected EU funds for other activities.
"We saw that some projects in transport mostly and rail transport, which are also a precondition to be funded. Why we have a decision to redirect such funds. Might need shifting means, but this is still a matter of discussion, and some axes education to employment programs", said the minister.
