H&M to open first store in Bulgaria in March 2012

Interesting

Sweden's fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz AB, or H&M, will open its first store in Bulgaria in March 2012, the company said on September 5.

The store will be in shopping centre The Mall in the capital Sofia. It will span 2200 sq m over two floors.

"We see this as a natural step in our expansion strategy. We will now be able to offer our customers in Bulgaria a chance to buy fashion and quality at the best price. We see great potential for expansion in the country," Karl-Johan Persson, chief executive at H&M, said.

H&M, created in 1947, is the second largest clothing retailer globally after Inditex, owner of sector player Zara. Apart from the H&M brand, its portfolio also includes the COS, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday, and H&M Home brands.

Currently, H&M Group has more than 2200 stores in 41 countries.
