Tourism

Hundreds of Germans, French and Poles almost literally stormed at the ancient rock city of Perperikon, according to Prof Nikolay Ovcharov.

And they were just a part of the total 11000 tourists who visited the sacred city in the four-day holidays.

The parking lot was packed with some 100 buses and 200 cars that transported the history fans.

"The warm weather allows the finalizing of infrastructure works at the foot of the mountain," Prof Ovcharov informed.

Very soon the new electronic system for tourist pass as well as the establishment of a modern complex of booths for souvenirs, coffee and snacks will start functioning.

Bulgaria's Minister of Finance, Simeon Djankov was reported to have visited Perperikon during the holidays as a common tourist.
