EC will provide 10 000 euros to small companies to develop a site

The European Commission will subsidize up to 10 000 euros small and medium businesses to develop corporate website of their own. So far, the pilot project was implemented in two Spanish regions - Murcia and Extremadura, and next year the scheme will be implemented throughout the European Union.
The money will be used by small businesses that do not have a web presence and want to own a page.
Vouchers will take and companies who want to build on their existing website with online shop or as to introduce electronic innovation. With the vouchers companies will be able to pay for the services of pre-approved companies, universities, scientific organizations. Then the documents will be cashed by the body which distributes funds. The amount of the voucher may vary depending on the needs of the companies or the peculiarities of the region, states the European Commission.
„Small businesses that use digital services grow twice as fast, twice as many exports and create twice as many jobs than others", said Commissioner and Information Technology Commission vice-president Neelie Kroes.
