Burgas welcomes sand sculptures festival 2011
Sand Sculptures Festival 2011 will take place in the city of Bourgas, at the Black Sea coast, from July 1 until September 15 2011.
You can see favourite cinema characters like Robocop, Batman, Harry Potter and King Kong along with heroes from Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Star Wars, Jurassic Park and many others.
The festival will welcome participants from eight countries; Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, The Netherlands and Australia.
They arrive on June 12 2011 and will have two weeks to make sand sculptures at Bourgas Park Ezero (Lake park) near hotel Park and horse base Bourgas.
About 3000 tons of sand will be used.
Last year's festival, under the theme of the circus, drew 70 000 people.
