Economy

The Bulgarian Minister of Environment and Waters Nona Karadzhova has told reporters that the government aims at increasing the role of the state in relation to ownership and control of the work of water facilities, in order to guarantee the social interests. The cabinet will discuss the national water strategy in January. In 2011 more than 320,000 tons of package waste were produced as 60% of this was burnt in plants, which would spare in 2012 a total of 830,000 trees, 130 million kW/h of electricity and 160,000 barrels of oil, Minister Karadzhova added.
