Bulgarian Rose Oil to be registered as a protected geographical indication at European level

Interesting

At its recent meeting, the Standing Interdepartmental Advisory Committee on Geographical Indications and Foods with Traditionally Specific Character at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food approved an application for registration of the Bulgarian Rose Oil as a protected geographical indication.

The document will be sent to the European Register of Protected Geographical Indications, announced the press centre of the Ministry of Agriculture. This is the last stage of the national procedure, including a review of the documents submitted by the group of producers, inspections of manufacturers and publication of the specification application in order to grant time for the submission of objections if any.

Since no objection was submitted within the legally set period, there are grounds for finalising the procedure on a national level. The documents required for the submission of an application to the European Commission are being prepared and the procedure will be launched at a European level.
