Bulgaria gets attractive to third countries emigrants including Macedonia

Economy

“With the amendments to the Bulgarian laws, especially those for the encouragement of the investments and the Bulgarian citizenship, Bulgaria is turning into a suitable target of emigrants from countries that are not members of the European Union (EU), such as Macedonia,” said sociologist Yuriy Aslanov, director of Afis sociological agency, speaking in an interview with FOCUS News Agency.

“Let us not forget that after the accession of Croatia Serbia was given a date for the EU accession talks and the political circles in Macedonia will probably start feeling concerned about the perspective to get isolated by the pan-European process,” Aslanov commented further.

“Many Bulgarian citizens are integrating very successfully at the European labour markets even now. The issue is being exploited only for internal political goals, definitely most severely in Germany, which will hold general elections in fall,” the sociologist said.
