Bulgaria-Turkey two-way gas system link makes progress

Economy

Technical analyses for linking the natural gas supply systems of Turkey and Bulgaria should be ready by May, Ankara’s Ambassador to Sofia Ismail Aramaz said. As the Bulgarian side has insisted, natural gas in the new pipeline will flow in both directions. Gas from Turkey will not be more expensive since the link will be alternative to other links. The fuel will arrive to Bulgaria from Azerbaijan in a pipeline reaching the Bulgarian border checkpoint Kapitan Andreevo. In the future it could deliver Turkmen gas or gas from Northern Iraq, Ambassador Aramaz added.
