Bulgaria has absorbed over 953 million euro under various operational programs of the EU since it joined the bloc in 2007, EU Funds Management Minister Tomislav Donchev said.
Speaking at the opening of a large-scale campaign for popularization of the EU operational programs in Bulgaria, yesterday, he also made it a point that 620 million euro of this sum has already been paid off to the implementers of these projects. According to minister Donchev, Bulgaria could absorb up to seventy percent of the allotted funds by 2013, when the operational programs end, but he added that an absorption rate of 98% is quite unlikely to reach.
The campaign involves outdoor advertising of the programs on huge billboards, as well as TV commercials and advertisements in some of the most popular newspapers and electronic media in Bulgaria, said project coordinator Mrs. Leila Mostanoja.
